Our Breeds

Brahma

IMG_1625_edited.jpg

Brahmas are the gentle giants of the chicken world, they are placid and docile, and for this reason, they make wonderful pets for children and adults alike.

Due to their size and weight, they usually cannot fly well. this makes them easier to contain with a fence than other breeds.

Brahmas will sometimes take 7 months to come into lay, however once they do start, they will usually lay 3-4 large brown eggs per week. They are also known for laying through the winter, so you will keep getting eggs all year round. Brahmas aren't typically known for going broody and if they do, may trample their eggs due to their size.
